the many faces of Christ ~ windows of Light everywhere

Several years ago, a Christmas Day, I was driving home to visit my brother and father. I had been reading from a contemplative, mystically-oriented Christian. Presently, I had been reading about the Eucharist, Eucharist meaning "Thanksgiving," that celebration of receiving the host and wine in Christian liturgy. Upon leaving that morning early, I experienced a new sense of revelation, a fresh epiphany. Spontaneously, everywhere I looked was Eucharist, all nature, everyone, everything. No one thing in itself was Eucharist, everything together, even the air, was Eucharist. This did not make sense to me, yet this was the experience, and one that arose without any intent on my own. This, to me, was simply a manifestation of Christ, of the Light, for the truth of Eucharist is Christ. Ironic, this was the day of celebrating the formless Word assuming a body.

This Eucharist, or Christ Manifestation, was not in opposition with anything. Nothing I sensed was opposed to anything, including how others might differently receive the same experience based on their predispositions or readiness to receive.

So, this was not actually a Christian experience, not in any religious sense, anymore than a Hindu experience or Buddhist experience or theist experience. That implied by the word “Eucharist,” as well as “Christ,” is not bounded within Christianity or Christian faith, anymore than Buddha can be kept in a Buddhist knapsack.

To meet the Christ, is to meet Buddha; to meet Buddha is to meet Christ. Yet, to meet anyone is to do that same.

being in Christ, we, with Christ,
share in being an icon of the Light
this is part of the mystery of everyone being
the Body of Christ

now we are beginning to see anew, thankfully!
Christ everywhere, Buddha everywhere, Love everywhere
a Sacred taking many shapes, seen and unseen, including you
Christ, in some sense, being set free
among us, in us, through us, as us
and in blessing of the Earth

Respecting persons most arises from seeing each one as a window of the living Christ, the Light. You are a window of the Beloved. When Buddhists say in seeing someone they see Buddha or Hindus say "Namaste" to someone, this is substantially the same.
